A little experiment in letting go, playing with scraps and seeing what happens.

Equality was created from textile scraps and leftover materials, brought together between two layers of water-soluble stabiliser and stitched into place. Once the stabiliser is washed away, the real surprise begins. The materials are left to find their own way, creating a loose, tactile and wonderfully unpredictable surface.

The process is part of the fun. I don't completely know what the finished piece will look like until the stabiliser disappears.

Bright, playful and full of texture, Equality is a small statement piece with a big personality. A reminder that beautiful things can emerge when we stop trying to control every little thing.
